We are experts in the risks associated with mold, the causes of its growth, the best methods to eliminate it, and assuring it won’t return. We can answer your most common questions here.
Common Questions About Mold
A: Families across America trust Green Home Solutions for all their mold remediation needs and for improved air quality. Our services are trusted by homeowners and businesses alike because:
- We only use products that minimize harm to the environment.
- A licensed and/or certified representative comes to your home to perform an initial assessment of your situation.
- You will receive a professional proposal that if applicable, includes testing by a third-party lab to identify the extent of contamination in your structure.
- We provide comprehensive services designed to fully eliminate the problem at its source.
A: We are better in many ways. For one thing, other companies may just cover up odors or use temporary sprays that make you think your problem is gone, but the mold spores and other toxins are still there.
- Our treatments are proven to destroy fungal spores and bacteria from within so that they don’t return. We don’t use harsh chemicals. The health and safety of your family, employees, tenants is always our goal. The products we use in our services are selected with that in mind. We are proud of our reputation as the go-to mold remediation company that uses EPA-registered products. Our services are also competitively priced.
A: Most non-professional treatments simply cover up odors and possibly kill off surface molds or impurities temporarily. Unfortunately, they can’t penetrate deeper into walls and other areas where molds and mildew originate. Furthermore, such sprays or aerosols often contain harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients that could be harmful when ingested. Unless the feeding ground of the mold spores is discovered, so the mold can be eliminated at its source, the problem will not be fully resolved.
A: We can arrange professional testing and lab work to identify issues that can affect the air quality in your home. The results will help us identify what treatments and services to recommend. We can also arrange post-treatment testing with an independent, third party to ensure that the air quality issues have been eliminated.
A: We will schedule an on-site assessment and evaluation of your issues as soon as is practical and at your convenience.
A: Before we would initiate treatment of your mold, mildew or odor problem, we conduct an assessment that includes locating the source of moisture that started the problem in the first place. We will discuss options for next steps and at that time provide detailed instructions on what to expect and how you should prepare.
A: If the area being remediated can be contained, then pets are fine as long as they are kept away from the containment. On a larger project, especially with any source material removal, we would strongly recommend taking your pets elsewhere for the day.
A: That depends. In most cases we have the ability to clean the mold from structurally sound surfaces. However, because we are not using bleach or strong oxidizers there may be some staining. Your GHS representative will discuss various options up front to make sure your expectations are met.
Common Questions About Odor Control and Air Quality
A: Yes. Mold and bacterial based odors are treated by removing the source. If the mold and bacteria are eliminated, there will not be any new odor generated. Other odors are treated at the source with our odor neutralizer at the molecular level. Our product creates an irreversible bond to the malodor molecules, thereby instantly and permanently changing the particle’s chemical structure, so they no longer have an odorous property. The result is cleaner, fresher air. Green Home Solutions uses only planet-friendly products so that you will be able to breathe easier.
A: Yes and no. Our odor service can remove the odors in your apartment, but because the odor is emanating from the apartment below, we cannot control the source.
A: We would not recommend any product be applied to areas that contain food. However, if the food was removed, the cabinets could be treated. As with any type of cleaning product, it is always advisable that dishes, glasses, utensils, food prep surfaces and the like be washed and rinsed prior to use.
